Always Be Ready to Sketch and Draw manga

By Rick Feathers

You always want to be ready to sketch and draw anime because you never know when inspiration will come to you or when that next bright idea for a new manga character will pop into your mind.

For example, have you ever been to a restaurant and while you were waiting for your order to come that you get this awesome thought? This great idea comes to mind due to something you saw or heard, only to forget because of the quick distraction when your food arrives. Do you get frustrated when this happens?

Well here is a simple solution, a tip never to lose a great anime idea again.

Purchase a small sketch pad or plain paper diary. There are a number of places you can buy these drawing pads and nice looking diaries. Department and office supply stores, art and school supply catalogues usually have a great selection, even book stores carry a variety to choose from. Regardless of your preference, a nice diary for your keepsake or just for taking notes, there is something out there for any budget. Just take some blank copy paper and make one, the key is to have something available to write your idea when it pops in your head.

Now the good part, you always want to have this drawing pad and also a few sharp pencils available in your purse or backpack. The key is to have something ready and handy to write down your ideas when you think of something, like interesting role play stories, maybe doodling a manga face to occupy time, a special anime pose you were looking for or it maybe that special costume, scenery, weapon, etc. The secret is to be ready so that you will not lose focus of something you been waiting for to motivate you to the next level of your drawing skill.

Here is a special bonus tip, think of how motivated and inspired you’ll be when your friends ask to see you anime sketches and ideas you have available. Even strangers will be curious about what you are doing and who knows, that very person asking to see your anime art work may need your skills and talent. So be ready and always write down your anime ideas.
